Online Training on Smithsonian Filipino American Curriculum
This FREE professional development workshop provides educators and community organizations with hands-on experience on how to integrate this online standards-based curriculum on Filipino American history and culture, nicknamed www.iJeepney.com into your classes by:

  • using Elluminate Live!, a computer program that allows live teaching and collaboration.
  • providing critical background on Filipino American history, culture, and education
  • delivering a live demonstration of student and teacher modules
  • setting up student and teacher accounts to explore Online Community feature
  • discussing the applicability of curriculum

Standards-Based Multicultural Curriculum Design
This professional development workshop provides educators with a hands-on and step-by-step process that blends:
• Standards-based interdisciplinary unit planning
• Your State's content and performance standards and benchmarks
• Transformative approach to multicultural curriculum development

Workshops on Filipino Americans & Education
Teaching Filipino American Students
This professional development workshop provides foundational historical and cultural knowledge about Filipino Americans with implications on education. It covers 10 important guidelines to effectively teach Filipino American students. Resources on Filipino Americans and education are provided.

Culturally Relevant Teaching: Including Filipinos in Curriculum
This professional development workshop exposes participants to pedagogical strategies and hands-on examples from Pinoy Teach, a multicultural curriculum that integrates Filipino history and culture. Participants learn to structure ethnic content knowledge around universal concepts that draws all students into learning.

Pinoy Teach Professional Development Institute
This intensive summer graduate course simultaneously teaches multicultural curriculum development and implementation as participants experience a multicultural curriculum and pedagogical model focused on Filipino history and culture entitled Pinoy Teach. Course promotes transformative content and approach to multicultural curriculum reform.

Consultation
Private consultation is provided on multicultural curriculum development on the history and cultures of other underrepresented ethnic minority groups.
